How to calculate your Final Grade Point Average (GPA)
The University of Ghana (UG) GPA can be calculated either using a software or manually. But first, let us look at the full scheme of classification.
Class of Degree Range of Final Grade Point Average (GPA)
Second Class (Upper)…..3.00-3.59
Second Class (Lower)……2.00-2.99
Manual Grade Point Average Calculation — University of Ghana GPA
Below grades are just examples:
|Courses||Credit hours||Grades||Grade points|
Grade Point Average (GPA) = Total Credit Hours * Total Grade Points / Total credit hours.
GPA = [(4*4)+(3*3.3)+(2*2.7)+(3*3.7)+(1*2.3)] / (4+3+2+3+1)
GPA = (16 + 9.9 + 5.4 + 11.1 + 2.3) / (13)
GPA = 44.7/13
GPA = 3.44
Therefore the Grade Point Average is 3.44 and the student is in the second class upper division. You can check your GPA by simply following this process.
